New Mobile Unit Brings Child Health Services to Communities in Need

31 May 2023

The Healthy Child Programme 4 Barnet service is proud to announce the launch of its ground-breaking Parent and Child Health Mobile Unit, a mobile health and wellbeing facility aimed at providing essential health visiting and school nursing services to underserved communities and ensuring the well-being of parents, carers and children in Barnet.

Ahead of the official launch, there will be a soft launch of the Parent and Child Health Mobile Unit on Thursday 1st June to spread awareness in the community and trial out the mobile provision of services in areas of Barnet.

In addition to offering health visiting services, the Parent and Child Health Mobile Unit will also focus on health education and empowerment. Through informative workshops, community members will receive vital knowledge on topics such as prenatal and postnatal care, infant feeding, nutrition, and overall child development. By equipping individuals with this knowledge, the mobile unit aims to foster healthier lifestyles and empower families to make informed healthcare decisions.

Debbie Rowe, Director of 0-19 Public Health Services at Solutions 4 Health said “We are thrilled to launch the Parent and Child Health Mobile Unit as part of our ongoing commitment to improving the well-being of parents and children in Barnet. This mobile facility will bridge the gap in healthcare accessibility, ensuring that no mother, father, carer, or child is left behind. We believe that every individual deserves access to quality healthcare, and we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of families in need.”

The Parent and Child Health Mobile Unit will collaborate with local community organisations, schools, and healthcare providers to maximise its reach and impact. By collaborating with key stakeholders, The Healthy Child Programme 4 Barnet aims to create a comprehensive support network that addresses the multifaceted needs of parents and children in Barnet.
